Angus Lewington builds technology that earns its keep.
Technologist, builder and founder of Alien IT Solutions. I work hands-on across the whole stack — from racking hardware in my own data centre to cloud, networks and code. I've delivered infrastructure on multi-billion-dollar projects I can't name, and I bring the same standard to a one-person business: built to last, not to sell.
No call centres, no hand-waving. A real person who installs the gear, writes the code, and stands behind both.
A builder, end to end
I'm comfortable from the physical layer to the application layer. That means I can design a network, pull the cable, rack the hardware, stand up the servers, wire the cloud and write the software that ties it all together — and then keep the whole thing running.
Managed IT & infrastructure
Networks and Wi-Fi, servers and storage, data-centre and hosting, internet and VoIP — designed, installed and maintained for businesses that need it to simply work.
Cloud, hosting & security
Cloud infrastructure, self-hosting, CCTV and physical security, and the boring-but-vital basics of backups, monitoring and access control done properly.
Connectivity where there is none
Long-range point-to-point links, rural Wi-Fi, Starlink setup and LoRa/IoT sensing — getting reliable connectivity to farms, remote properties and temporary sites.
AI, automation & bespoke builds
AI agents, workflow automation, integrations and custom software — the same hands-on approach, applied to making systems do the work that people shouldn't have to.
How I work
The values below aren't a poster on the wall. They're the reason clients keep calling back, and the reason I'd rather lose a quick sale than build something I can't stand behind.
I keep my word
If I say I'll do it, it gets done — and if something changes, you hear it from me first. A handshake should mean something.
Fairness, plainly
Honest pricing, honest scope, and no charging for the privilege of not understanding what you're paying for.
Evidence, not hand-waving
I believe in proof. If a thing works, I can show you why; if it broke, I can show you what happened and how it's fixed.
Persistence
The hard problems are the ones worth solving. I don't walk away from a fault because it's awkward — I chase it down.
Built for the long run
I build for your benefit over years, not for the quick sale this week. The right answer is the one that's still right next year.
Whole-stack ownership
One person who understands the cable, the cloud and the code means fewer hand-offs, fewer excuses, and a clearer line of accountability.
A small family of ventures
Beyond client work, I found and operate a handful of focused businesses — each one a real answer to a real problem I kept running into.

Who is Angus Lewington?
I'm a Sydney-based technologist and builder with eighteen years in IT, and the founder of Alien IT Solutions. I work hands-on across the whole stack — from physical networks and my own data centre to cloud, code and AI — for businesses and rural properties across Australia.
What do you actually do?
Managed IT, networks and Wi-Fi, internet and VoIP, data-centre and hosting, CCTV and security, cloud, and increasingly AI and automation. I also run a set of connectivity ventures for rural and remote sites. If it touches the physical layer through to the application layer, it's in scope.
Do you only work in Sydney?
Sydney is home and where most business IT work happens, but the connectivity and rural projects take me well beyond the city — long-range links, Starlink and IoT are exactly for the places the big providers ignore.
What makes your approach different?
I do the whole job. Most people specialise in one slice and hand off the rest; I'm comfortable running the cable, racking the gear, wiring the cloud and writing the software — so there are fewer hand-offs, and one person is accountable for the result.
How do I work with you?
Tell me what you're trying to do on the contact page. I'll come back to you — usually the same business day — with sensible questions and an honest view of whether and how I can help.
Got something that needs building — or fixing?
Tell me what you're trying to do. I'll give you a straight answer about whether I can help and how.
